Placed right behind the Mantiqueira hills and in an intersection with Campos das Vertentes – a transition between the Atlantic forest and the Cerrado biome – the region offers the opportunity to discover very unique cup pro les. Lambari also belongs to what is known as Circuito das Águas (Water Circuit), because of its many rivers that come down from the water springs in the Mantiqueira hills. The coffee production there relies on smallholders.
“Força Café” stands for smallholder empowerment in coffee growing regions of Minas Gerais. It is a local program of HRNS (Hanns R. Neumann Stiftung) do Brasil, founded in 2007, which helps farmers to better manage their farms. This microlot coffee is a blend winner of the “Força Café” event, composed of the part taking regional coffees.
