Fazenda Pântano, a farm that has been managed by Wagner Ferrero since 1990. For over a century, the “Famiglia” Ferrero has been dedicated to coffee. What started with Italian immigrants coming to Brazil to work on coffee plantations in São Paulo, the grandson Wagner has become one of the largest growers of specialty coffee in the country with 900 hectares throughout the savannas of the Cerrado biome in Minas Gerais. The farm is located in a privileged area, over 1,200 meters a.s.l. which provides a very favorable microclimate for specialties. Fazenda Pântano is not limited to coffee varieties that are usually known for their notable cup profiles, such as Yellow Bourbon. Ferrero is harvesting more than 240 varieties, some are still undergoing research for further development, others have gained attention because are very difficult to find elsewhere.
