Iyego Farmers Co-operative Society´s vision is “to provide an enabling environment in which to improve and increase production and ensure highest possible payment while adhering to the Co-operative principes and values.” Iyego was esthablished and registered in May 1959, as Iyego Coffee Growers Co-operative Society, made of 7.528 members. The society was later renamed Iyego Farmers Cooperative Society to reflect a wider scope of its members´ mandate. The society currently exclusively deals in coffee processing and marketing. The Society trains members on how to improve quality and quantity or our coffee in order to respond to the market need. They have been investint on members trainings on coffee husbandry, nutrition, control of pest and deseases in oder to increase coffee productivity and in return increase income and economic stability of the farmers and community. They additionally invested in a coffee nursery project, digitalisation or transparency. The Co-operative Society is fully owned by the members who contribute Shares and in return are issued with Share Certificates.
