Cooperative Coffee

Yakumama, which means “mother water”, is a community of cooperatives that was founded with only one goal: to offer the best specialty coffees to the world. Each cooperative is made up of a large number of coffee farmers: they are forged as true specialists in the production of coffee and organic fruits of the highest quality through associative work and respect for the biodiversity of the Earth.
Amoju, as a cooperative member of Yakumama, focus its work in organic agriculture as a commitment to sustainability, thus preserving the fertility of crops for the next generations. In this way, we are proud heirs of an ancient knowledge and an ancient technique. The word amoju comes from the Awajun language and means “Nascent of fresh water”. This beautiful expression becomes real in Amoju, a freshwater creek that crosses and divides the city of Jaen, one of the main cities of Cajamarca. This gives the name to the “Cooperativa Agraria de Servicios Múltiples Café Amoju Ltda”., Legally established since September 2016.
