Hemavathi Estate, established in year 1940 by Mr R P Mathias, is a renowned coffee plantation named after the Hemavathi River, which originates nearby. This estate, spanning 60.73 hectares, is celebrated for its ideal conditions for cultivating Arabica coffee, thanks to its optimal soil and climate. The coffee is grown under the shade of indigenous forest trees and shrubs, with the landscape featuring picturesque hills and gorges, creating a perfect environment for coffee production. Currently, the estate is managed by Mrs. Anita Mathias, a third-generation planter, along with her two daughters.
