Guatemala – Los Laureles Estate

Los Laureles Estate is located in La Democracia, Huehuetenango, Guatemala, in one of the region’s most impressive valleys, surrounded by high mountains and a unique landscape. Established in 1966 by Mario Sosa and his wife, the farm has been built with great dedication and family passion. Today, the farm is managed by Mario Jr., who continues the family’s legacy.

The estate covers 61 hectares, of which 55 hectares are dedicated to coffee cultivation at 1,350–1,550 meters. The farm grows Caturra, Bourbon, Pache, Maragogype and other Arabica varieties. Harvest takes place from December through March, with an annual production of approximately 800 bags of 69 kg.

Los Laureles uses traditional wet milling and produces coffees with a floral aroma, full body, and a sweet, pleasant aftertaste. In 2001, the farm earned a place in the Cup of Excellence, achieving a strong result with its distinctive cup profile.
