Palpare Estate is situated at Kutta, Coorg in India, was established around the year 1930 and is now managed and run by the third generation in the family. Palpare estate lies at an altitude of 900 m above sea level and receives an average annual rainfall of around 70 inches.
The estate is located adjacent to the Nagarhole National Park at the foothills of the Brahmagiri Range in the Western Ghats. The Nagarhole National Park is a part of The Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve within the Western Ghats Mountain System which was recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site in 2012. The Western Ghats has an exceptionally high level of biological diversity and is recognised as one of the world’s eight “hottest hotspots” of biological diversity.
