Malawi Mzuzu Coffee Planters Cooperative Union Limited

Cooperative Coffee

The origin of this organisation was the smallholder projects funded and managed by the Commonwealth Development Corporation, in the 1980’s and centred from the Mzuzu City head office and Coffee Mill. This organisation was rebranded under the name of the Mzuzu Coffee Planters Cooperative Union Limited, in 2007.

These cooperatives that all work with the Mzuzu Coffee Planters Cooperative Union Limited are located in the northern districts of Malawi from Mzimba upwards, which shall be evident when you compare the map below, to the full country map at the end of this message. But there are now some new smallholder projects in Central Malawi and more particularly in the Ntchisi East district, between the town of Kasungu (can be seen on the main Malawi Map below) and lake Malawi. This latter district having similar altitude and growing conditions, as that of South East Mzimba.
