Kawa Kivu is a platform of Congolese specialty coffee producers united in farmer-led cooperatives in the provinces of North and South Kivu.
The Kawa Kabuya Cooperative produces “full washed” and “honey” coffee, of Kivu-3 quality. It is coffee produced on Lake Eduard, near Virunga National Park, habitat of mountain
gorillas. Our head office is located in Butembo (North Kivu), a commercial city where citizens find their wealth from coffee culture, which brings them improved housing, schooling
of children and other benefits. Our young cooperative in its 4th year of existence and already exports 14 containers per year, thanks to the determination of our 2,500 members.
