Família Paixão is a third-generation coffee-growing family from Manhuaçu, Minas Gerais, cultivating coffee at 850–1,100 masl. The family grows Catucaí 785/15, Catuaí, and Mundo Novo, with harvesting taking place in June and July.
In 2025, the family made an important transition from traditional volume production to specialty coffee by establishing their own wet mill and focusing more strongly on quality and traceability. Their efforts have since received recognition through several competitions, including the Cup of Excellence, where they were finalists in 2017 and had a winning lot purchased for Shanghai. Today, Fazenda Cachoeira Alta combines generations of experience with a strong commitment to specialty coffee, with Luiz Paixão, Alexander’s son, continuing the family’s legacy.
